Severe Thunderstorm Moving North At 25 MPH

Severe thunderstorm in Scottsdale, AZ on Sunday, August 03, 2014 at 6:07 PM MST. Peak wind gust 24 mph. Heavy rain. No hail. Thunder. No lightning observed. Temperature dropped to 75 F.

At 6:02 PM MST NWS Meteorologists detected a severe thunderstorm capable of producing dime size hail and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph. This storm was located near Tempe and moving north at 25 mph.

Other locations in the warning include but are not limited to Sky Harbor Airport, Tempe Marketplace, Mesa Riverview Mall, Papago Park, Salt River Indian Community, Downtown Scottsdale, Camelback Mountain, Piestewa Peak Park, Scottsdale Airport, Desert Ridge Marketplace, McDowell Mountain Park, Desert Mountain, Cave Creek and Carefree.

[Update] Trees and power lines down near Price Road/Loop 101 at University Drive in Tempe (5.9 miles to the south). NWS: Storm had at least one clear downburst/microburst signature.
